A Rustic Summer Wedding at Bryn Du Mansion

Portraits

Together for over seven years, it became a little more real when Ben got down on one knee to propose to Danielle in Dublin, Ireland. She was studying abroad and wanted to show him the sights of Northern Ireland. On a stop of the tour at Giant’s Causeway near a mountain that Ben saw…they stopped, walked up the muddy slope, and he popped the question!

When I send an initial questionnaire, I ask couples about a mantra for their marriage because the wedding day is beautiful and important and wonderful, but it is just one day. It’s the first day of the future you’re building together and that, to me, is worth celebrating. So, Ben and Danielle, I’m not an expert, but after living out marriage – with all it’s ups and downs – for almost 5 years, I can say hold on to those words you spoke in front of friends and family and hold on to the words you typed to me – that you want to grow, learn, and love together through the good and bad.

You’ll be able to cling to those promises in times of hardship and celebrate them in times of joy.

B + D are kind and sweet humans, evident by the 18 friends in their wedding party, and we were honored to document their day. I found out I was pregnant after we had done their engagement photos in the fall and sent a long email detailing that I was due TEN days before their wedding date and would be happy to find a replacement photographer if they didn’t want to risk anything happening OR I would be happy to bring along a friend who could take over if I couldn’t make it. Danielle said she wanted to go for it, so shoot the wedding we did! I loved working with them for their engagement photos and even though I was huffing and puffing all day, the wedding day went just as wonderfully – the sun came out, Meghan was an incredible second shooter, my husband was making sure baby stayed put…we did it!

Here’s to foodie date nights for years to come, you two. Happy One Week Anniversary!
