This sweet family is incredible. I’m so thankful Ashley reached out to me and that we rescheduled a rainy day for this absolutely perfect fall afternoon.
Jon and I first met Kim Phillips – Ashley’s mom – while she was teaching kindergarten at Polaris Christian Academy, coming up on her 30th year! Ashley reached out to capture their family and have the Phillips’ and her brother, Jason and his wife Leah join in for a few and you can tell how crazy they all are about each other. It’s a blessing for me as the photographer, an outsider looking in, to watch a family’s dynamic and work to capture it as best I can. I love to see the relationships and how much the next generation is always so adored.
Sadly, one month after this photoshoot, Kim went to be with the Lord having fought Ovarian Cancer for quite a few years. Captured in this photo are three generations – including a little one who hadn’t been announced yet – and it speaks to the way God designed humankind. Wisdom, joy, tradition, peace, and connection passed down from heart to heart. We’re thankful to know each person in this photo, especially Kim.
