    Great post, and a timely one at that! I agree that accountability is huge, and doing practical things like gathering tools to put ideas to action help. I would add (and I’m struggling with this) eliminating distractions (i.e. social media, mindless internet browsing, etc.). Scheduling time in your day for certain things, such as writing or planning events (seeing it physically as something on my schedule keeps me motivated). I adopted your “sticky note system” by writing each task on a sticky note and keeping them on my desk–happily ripping them off when the task is done. And, another motivator… watching TED talks or interviews with leadership experts–hearing their stories & insight challenge me to push deeper into what I’m doing.
